Here is my new playlist! Not all of the music technically falls under the dream/bedroom pop sub-genre, but all of the songs are soft and wavy.
On it, I feature some of my musician friends, including: Alpha Violet, Opaline Olivia, New Islands, Casü, and Kat Wolff.
Opaline Olivia and I went to high school together, and the Dream Pop album she recently released called Suburban Goblin is epic. It reminds me of Grimes but it's also hard to compare to other sounds because it is so uniquely her. My favorite songs on the album are Porch Light and Fishbowl.
Kat Wolff and I went to college together, and her brand new solo album Soul Syrup is hauntingly beautiful. Her piano melodies are gorgeous and the first song on the album, Payphone, is melancholic and nostalgic. One line from the song is, "And it ain't so easy to go on like this, filled to the brim with an emptiness". It strikes a chord that makes me feel what she is feeling and is so powerful.
I love watching my friends spread their light through creation.
Check out the playlist & jam out now!
